Cost = $130
Sales = $354 ($1.77 x 200)
Profit = $224 ($354 - $130)
Margin = 172%
SCENARIO 2: LARGER ORDER
BUY 500 NOTES, SELL AT THE RRP
You buy 500 notes which costs you $300 ex. GST (60c per note). You sell them at the Recommended Retail Price of $2.50 which = $2.27 ex. GST.
Cost = $300
Sales = $1135 ($2.27 x 500)
Profit = $835 ($1135 - $300)
Margin = 278%
SCENARIO 3: LARGE ORDER
BUY 1000 NOTES, SELL AT THE RRP
You buy 1000 notes which costs you $500 ex. GST (50c per note). You sell them at the Recommended Retail Price of $2.50 which = $2.27 ex. GST.
Cost = $500
Sales = $2270 ($2.27 x 1000)
Profit = $1770 ($2270 - $500)
Margin = 354%
So as you can see, even if you order just the minimum amount of 200 notes and sell them at $1.95 each (i.e. less than the RRP) you make a healthy 172% margin.
